Software Engineer

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, provides Cyber Security services and cutting-edge technologies to the Federal Government. As a Software Engineer III, you will work as part of a team to develop new tools, add features and capabilities, and automate system deployments and configurations to support customers. You will support projects using Python, PHP, Ansible, and BASH scripting. This is a hybrid position where you will be expected to be on-site at least 40% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• US Citizen
• BS in Computer Science or related field
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
• 8 years of experience in system automation and software development (can be a combination of education and experience).
• Strong familiarity with Linux (Red Hat/Rocky) and virtualization (VMWare specifically)
• Extensive experience with Ansible automation
• Understanding of the function and operation of Defensive Cyber tools, including VMWare, Splunk, Security Onion, Zeek, Palo Alto and others
• Experience with system/software version control and management
• Experience working with release cycles and product changes
• Experience working within a security framework for compliance and auditing

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with Podman/Docker containers
• Python/PHP experience
• Knowledge of best practices in the realm of Security patching, authentication, and log retention
• Understanding of L2/L3 Networking and VLANs
• Experience with system/software version control and management
• Ability to work both as a member of a team as well as independently as required
• Ability to write, document, and maintain processes and procedures related to architecture changes, engineering efforts, and security compliance

This role has an internal job title of Software Security Engineer III with a corresponding base salary range of $109k to $141k, set in line with internal benchmarks. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to the anticipated salary, one will have the opportunity to qualify for bonuses.
