Overview: The Firm Intelligence team is transforming the way firms leverage their data for competitive advantage. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing a modern application, that delights users, on the Microsoft Azure platform using technologies such as Svelte/React.js, HTML, CSS, C#, JavaScript / TypeScript, and Generative AI. Key Responsibilities:
- Write clean, maintainable code that is extensible with minimum number of defects
- Source for expert level knowledge of modern software development techniques and methodologies
- Provide guidance on modern software engineering techniques and methodologies
- Establish expertise on the team as the "go to" person for UX/UI related engineering best practices
- Take ownership of product features from estimates to design and development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, QA) to complete tasks
- Manage individual task priorities, estimates, deadlines, and deliverables
- Coach and mentor less experienced team members
- Shape innovative designs and feature enhancement ideas into the product and design process
- Own key areas of the product in terms of design and development
- Deliver solutions that scale
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of software development experience with excellent HTML5, CSS, UX framework (Svelte or React.js strongly preferred), and TypeScript/JavaScript coding skills
5+ years of experience with the following technologies:
- HTML5/CSS/TypeScript/JavaScript
- .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Web/REST APIs
- C#
- Unit testing frameworks (i.e., NUnit, MSTest)
3+ years of working knowledge of the following technologies:
- SQL Azure (preferred) or SQL Server, and Microsoft Entity Framework, postgreSQL (preferred)
- Exposure to (knowledge of) automated test frameworks such as Playwright, JMeter and Cypress
- Exposure to artificial intelligence technologies as plus
3+ years of experience with the following tools:
- GitHub, Jira
- Microsoft Visual Studio Code (preferred) or Microsoft Visual Studio
- Education in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or related experience)
- Experience with CI/CD and automated build and deployment processes
- Experience with GitHub Copilot a plus (but not required)
- Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks preferred
- Exposure to any (or all) of the following a plus: Azure Container Services, SQL Azure, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault
- Exposure to document manage systems or other legal-industry applications is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Excellent at multi-tasking and able to handle competing priorities

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $85,000 to $145,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Litera offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
