OVERVIEW
The Ecommerce Engineering Team is responsible for providing a scalable, highly performant platform to power all Ecommerce experiences for US and International customers. Our Ecommerce experience reaches millions of Alo Yoga customers through various channels with most interactions on Mobile web browsers primarily on Safari and Chrome. Our services power our most loyal customers using our Native iOS App.
As Entry Level Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in design and implementation of key features for Alo Yoga ecommerce offering. The ideal candidate will be motivated and proactive with a strong technical background; experience with design and implementation; proven development, domain, and communication skills; and a record of accomplishment of delivering high-quality software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop features as outline in the Jira stories with collaboration and guidance of Senior Engineers.
- Acquire understanding of the Alo Yoga Ecommerce system and deep dive into a specific area.
- Participate in production deployments and monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of one or more programming language preferably Typescript or Python.
- Team player and ability to collaborate to be productive on the team.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies – ReactJS/Redux, HTML5. CSS3
- Attention to detail, curious to learn, competitive to collaborate and win and have fun taking on challenges.
- Love for making a difference in ecommerce with technology
- Familiarity with design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- This role must sit onsite 4x/week at either our Beverly Hills HQ or San Ramon office.
The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.

Mindful movement carries over to life at Alo, where there’s a solar-powered office, yoga five days a week for employees at our on-site gym, electric-car charging stations, an advanced recycling program that reduces waste to that of a small household, and meetings outside by the fountains in our meditative Zen garden. We have a gong. And we use it. Our stores are designed to be places to commune—people and ideas mingle over organic juice, kombucha and coffee. And the airy yoga studio and roof deck at our Beverly Hills flagship store is where it’s really happening. There’s even a super-sized cosmic mural on one wall—come by for some astral travel (or just to take an Instagram pic).
