Caterpillar Inc. seeks Software Engineer at its facility located at 540 West Madison St, Chicago, IL 60661. Day to day operations of Caterpillar's Cloud environment. Ensure that resources in the cloud are sufficiently manage and tagged and under proper utilization. Work with development teams to ensure proper sizing and costing of infrastructure hosted in the cloud. Write code to support automations for deploying and managing cloud infrastructure. Responsible for creating and maintaining service availability and stability. Looks into issues that are coming up on the AWS platform. Identifies technical contacts to help solve issues within AWS. Writes automation to fix the issues. Improves performance of our system and Services in Pre-Production & Production stages. Performs all programming and development assignments without close supervision. Contributes to make reactive changes to configuration during remediation. The Responsible for proactive configuration changes to minimize operational disruptions and oversight of cloud services that an organization's employee use. Investigates the most prominent cloud architectures, automation techniques for composing agile and automated end-to end IT processes, and software re-architecting and re-engineering approaches. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus One (1) year of experience as a Software Developer, Cloud Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Navigating the AWS Console and AWS resources and services; (2) Scripting languages such as Python; (3) AWS to analyze issues and create solutions based on AWS best practices; and (4) Automating and implementing identity and security policies for cloud infra (AWS).
