Summary
The Payments team in Singapore is looking for an experienced Software Engineer who will be an integral part of the engineering team assisting with various tasks and projects for design, development, testing and maintenance of products or systems.
This position involves full-time hands-on development in a scrum team of 6-8 engineers. The person is expected to be highly competent technically and able to collaborate well with other engineers This is exciting engineering work with a significant impact on delivering business goals.
What you need to know about the role
This role involves:
• Providing Technical Support to senior engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects
• Doing Research and Analysis to collect data, and analyze information to support engineering projects
• Participation in testing activities, including the development of test cases, execution of tests, and documentation of test results to ensure the quality and reliability of products or systems
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as product, and other engineering teams, to facilitate effective communication and project coordination
• Troubleshooting technical issues, investigate problems, and propose resolutions or workarounds in a timely manner
• Managing the release and monitoring of software components

Your day to Day
• Coding for project tasks in Java using internal and standard frameworks
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning etc.)
• Collaborate with the seniors and the rest of team to complete tasks
• Provide daily updates on the status and raise a flag for any blocker issues
What you need to bring
• You have a Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related area
• You have 1 to 3 years of hands-on development experience
• You have extensively used Java, Junit, Maven, Git and Sonar in development
• You have worked in a scrum team for at least a year and practice agile methodologies faithfully
• You have implemented REST APIs or SOA components
• You have effectively used OO-design and design patterns in your work
• You have developed code using SQL
• You have good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly
