Position Overview:

3+ year of experience developing applications
-
In descending order of importance
-
C/C++ programming experience.

Familiar with Linux development environment and tool chain (gcc, linker, Makefile, debugger, etc.)

Java language experience (GUI development a plus)

Scripting language proficiency (python, perl, bash)
-
Network programming with BSD sockets
-
Some experience with version control tools (git, cvs, etc.)
-
Understanding real-time principles and concepts.

Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
Essential Job Functions:
-
Primary focus is on Software Development in a Real-Time Linux environment related to Linux Kernel and I/O Device software and hardware.

Secondary focus is to provide technical support for software and hardware to both internal and external customers.

Some understanding of I/O devices is required.

Contribute to improving the technical knowledge base and effectiveness of other engineers.
-
Interface with co-workers and staff from other departments and ensure positive working relationship.

Impart technical expertise within department, and to customers, users’ groups.

Perform such other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences.
