Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer (QA Automation Engineer) _ to join our Infomatics & Connected Worksite -CAT IT team.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic QA Automation Engineer with proven experience in UI and API automation to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in automation testing and a desire to contribute to building robust testing solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and work on challenging projects in a supportive environment.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore _PSN, Whitefield office and WTC , Chennai Office
What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing, working closely with senior engineers and contributing to the overall framework.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Execute automated test scripts for UI and API to validate application functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Perform database testing to ensure data integrity and validate business logic.
• Actively participate in the software development lifecycle, applying best practices in testing methodologies.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines for test automation integration.
• Troubleshoot and debug test failures, collaborating with developers to identify and resolve issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the automation framework.
• Provide clear and concise test results and reports.
• Collaborate with manual testers to ensure thorough test coverage.
• Utilize JIRA or Azure DevOps for bug tracking, test case management, and project tracking.

What you will have

• Demonstrable experience in UI and API automation testing.
• Proficient programming skills in Python (preferred) or Java.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright (preferred) or Selenium.
• Hands-on experience with API automation tools such as Requests, Rest Assured, Postman, or JMeter.
• Experience with database testing (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Solid understanding of testing processes, both manual and automated.
• Experience with version control tools (Git).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with JIRA or Azure DevOps (or similar bug tracking and project management tools).

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Oracle cloud platforms.
• Exposure to performance testing tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Soft Skills:

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Oracle cloud platforms.
• Experience with performance testing tools.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Level Extensive Experience: • Conducts walkthroughs and monitors effectiveness and quality of the development activities. • Elaborates on multiple-development toolkits for traditional and web-based software. • Has participated in development of multiple or large software products. • Contrasts advantages and drawbacks of different development languages and tools. • Estimates and monitors development costs based on functional and technical requirements. • Provides consulting on both selection and utilization of developers' workbench tools.
