The Role
The Software Engineer will build and scale Pocus' AI platform, handling data ingestion, transformation, and query capabilities, while ensuring reliability and security.
Summary Generated by Built In

Pocus exists to supercharge GTM teams. We make every rep a 10x seller. With Pocus, organizations can have fewer, better reps to drive increased pipeline and revenue.

How? We’ve created the world’s most powerful, AI-native prospecting platform.

Pocus influences nearly half a billion in pipeline per quarter for our customers. We’re trusted by high growth companies like Asana, Monday, Canva, and Miro where Pocus powers up to 50% of their pipeline and eliminates 10+ hrs of work per rep per week.

Pocus has hundreds of always-on AI agents doing the manual, tedious work of researching & prospecting so that reps can do what they do best: sell. With Pocus AI agents working for them, rep’s days are simplified. Reps get alerts when compelling events happen, account plans are generated by AI, and agents recommend who to reach out to with the next best action. We’re fortunate to be backed by First Round, Coatue, and execs like CEO Zoom, CPO Adobe, CRO OpenAI, who are helping us usher in this future of sales.

The Pocus team is full of humble overachievers that like to move quickly (we call it shiperate), own our work, give customers superpowers, and create magic for our team… all while having a ton of fun. Join us on this next phase of growth!

About the role

Pocus is powered by a custom agentic AI platform that helps our customers ingest, transform, and make sense of structured as well as semi-structured data that can be public or private. This role is responsible for building product features that enhance this platform. We process multiple many gigabytes of data every day through AI powered agents and data orchestration frameworks.

What you’ll do

Pocus’ infrastructure runs on AWS. We use Typescript to develop code and communication happens via GraphQL. We use technologies like Clickhouse, Presto, Temporal, LLMs etc. and have a strong bias towards using managed services wherever possible.

In this role, you will

  • Build an AI platform that is scalable, reliable, and extensible: This platform forms the basis of everything that our application is built on.

At a very high level, it includes:

    • A data ingestion layer that supports data extraction from various warehouses, databases, CRMs, public datasets, crawlers, etc.

    • A transformation and relevance engine that enriches this data using LLM based reasoning and tools.

    • A query engine that lets you filter and aggregate these transformed entities in milliseconds

    • A workflow system that lets you act on these results via 3rd party connections like Outreach, Slack etc. or via web-hooks

You will play a key role in making it feature-rich, stable, and scalable.

  • Have complete autonomy: Extreme autonomy and ownership is how we move so fast. At Pocus, you will have the opportunity to influence every aspect of our product and technology.

  • Build secure systems: Our customers entrust us with a lot of sensitive data, so we take security very seriously at Pocus.

  • Work with best-in-class engineering practices: We take immense pride in the craft of our work. We don’t skimp on things like code review, developer tooling, documentation, testing, etc.

  • Join an incredible team at a magical time: We’re at the beginning stages of explosive growth. Join a passionate, scrappy, and no-ego team of builders that will inspire you every day.

What you bring

We’re a small team and we like to move really fast. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of experience building production-grade distributed systems

  • Has experience working with data-intensive applications and systems

  • Loves working in small groups with a strong bias for action

  • Is not afraid to jump across domains and technology stacks when needed

  • Has a knack for problem-solving and thinking from first principles

  • Holds a high bar for quality, simplicity and takes pride in their work

  • Regularly uses AI powered tools like Cursor, Copilot, etc. to increase productivity
