Get to Know the Team

• The Mobility Android team is an established engineering team responsible for building features or improvements related to the Transportation service in the Grab passenger Android app.

Get to Know the Role 

• We deliver the most ideal experience to the millions of consumers across SEA using Grab Transportation service every day. We are made up of, passionate engineers. You will report to Senior Engineering Manager and work onsite at HCMC

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Work with Product/Design/Analytics teams to understand business problems and requirements
• Collaborate with Android/iOS/Backend/QA Engineers to propose and implement technical solutions that are scalable, and address the actual problems.
• Write code that is reusable, scalable, and testable. Make sure features are delivered with high quality promptly.
• Review code and engineering specs from team members, provide constructive feedback, and aim to raise the engineering bar.
• Be responsible and responsive during on-call duty. Assessment, debug, reduce, and fix complex issues. Help with ad hoc queries from other teams.
• Identify pain points and inefficiencies in the codebase, system, and process, propose and items to address them.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 3+ years of Android development experience building scalable and available mobile applications.
• Understand the Android system and programming paradigm including OOP, TDD, reactive patterns, and dependency injection.
• Working knowledge of several architectural approaches including clean architecture, MVP, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
• Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design, unit testing, and UI testing techniques.
• Accountable and takes ownership of your own work.
• Proficiency in Kotlin/Rxjava
• Understand UI: view cycle, view, and layouts.
• Excellent working knowledge of the mobile app development life cycle and best practices.
