Get to Know the Team

The Metrics platform team is a relatively new team within Grab's Data Technology organization, today we have a distributed team with members in Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand and soon Malaysia. You will report into the Senior Data Engineering Manager and be based onsite in Malaysia.Malaysia. We are building a central platform for metrics where Grabbers from every part of Grab.

Get to Know the Role 

The Software engineer role in the Metrics Platform team is a hybrid software and data engineering role. You will be a member of the team to develop Grab's Metrics platform and will provide support for Grabbers who are users of the Metrics Platform, to to help those that aren't users yet to on-board onto our platform.Your

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Work with the other engineers on the team to develop solutions for the metric platforms workstreams.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams in Grab to integrate their systems with the metrics platform.
• Help expand the coverage of the platform by collaborating with metrics publishers and consumers to help them work more with our platform.
• Oversee the maintenance and optimizations of the systems and automations on our platform.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
• Programming Skills: A minimum of 1+ years of experience with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Scala, or Java, to develop ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Data Modeling Knowledge: A working understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts to design and implement data solutions.
• Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow, along with experience streaming data using frameworks like Apache Flink.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services such as AWS to use cloud infrastructure for data processing and storage.
