Software application engineer to become a part of the software CS team to support our customers.

About the role:
The main role of the Software Application Engineer CS is to ensure our current systems are performing according to customer´s needs by providing customer support with either our newest software application or with previous software platforms. The support service involves implementing modernizations, upgrades and providing support to our customers.
Together and rotating within a team of Software Application Engineers, you will provide on-call service to clients to attend emergencies out of office hours.
Additionally, the role entitles effective software development after identifying areas for modification in existing systems.
The role also involves traveling from time to time to any customer site for deploying new software extensions/upgrades or for training purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing modernizations to our customers’ software to offer the best product experience.
- Recommend and execute upgrades in order to sustain high levels of performance.
- Testing and identifying areas to improve current systems performance.
- Customer support activities (including being part of a team delivering oncall service 24x7).
- Software development for a range of Dematic’s solutions for automated Intralogistics system.
- Integrating software components and third-party programs.
- Visiting customers’ sites for new system implementations.
Tasks and Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience required
- Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 3-5 years of successful experience in related field.
Basic Skills:
- Good knowledge JAVA, JEE, Oracle PL-SQL,
- Experience with Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming
- Good knowledge of design patterns.
- Control version systems (GIT, SVN, …)
Desirable skills:
- Good knowledge of relational databases (Oracle), SQL and ORM technologies
- Web services implementation (REST, SOAP, WSDL, …)
- IDEs: IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse.
- Experience in HW maintenance (servers, PC)
- Experience with Warehouse Logistics appreciated (Warehouse Management/Warehouse Control Systems).

- Willingness to travel 20% - 30% is a necessity
- Ability to work effectively in English.
