Leidos is partnering with the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) MFLC Program to support military service members and their families across the country and worldwide. Leidos is hiring a Software Engineer Lead to support this important mission. In this position, you will lead a team of developers and work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available scalable systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development life cycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, code reviews, unit testing, and deployment. You will lead a weekly meeting to check in on the team, and one on one meetings as required with individuals.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in the full software development lifecycle.

Own the delivery of an entire piece of a system or application and serve as a technical lead on projects.

Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for product development.

Ensure the team adheres to software engineering best practices.

Build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first.

Mentor other engineers in the art of building complex, web-scale systems.

Resolve roadblocks for the development team, working collaboratively with the Product Owner, technical leadership, and other engineers.

Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
Minimum Requirements:
-
BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience

Must have experience delivering an entire system or application
-
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience leading a technical team

Deep understanding of software design patterns
-
Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals

Must have experience with C# -Microsoft .Net framework
-
Experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks such as Vue as well as experience working with basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, REST, JSON)

Must have experience working with Cloud Technologies, AWS specifically

Experience working with a version control system (e.g., Git)

Must have experience working with CI/CD processes and tools

Experience working with multiple operating systems (MacOS, Windows, Linux)

Experience working with MySQL

Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques

Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal direct supervision

Ability to work and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined engineering team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Leidos ECM and AWS GovCloud environments

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
