As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure applications on the AWS platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define software requirements and specifications.
- Implement best practices for cloud architecture and application development.
- Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services and technologies to drive innovation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Extensive experience with AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer certification.
- Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven programming.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
