As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams
  • Continuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software development
  • Collaborate with the software development team and stakeholders to identify and prioritize software needs
  • Manage data infrastructure, including data warehouse and ETL processes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security
  • Define and implement best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data modeling
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend innovations to improve our data capabilities
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careers
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Java, SQL, Python, ReactJS and/or other programming languages used in Data Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Operational stakeholders
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
