The Opportunity:

As a member of the Cash Transfers team, you’ll be responsible for building high-reliability, high-volume services that move millions of dollars each day over an increasingly diverse set of “rails” (ACH, Instant Cash, PayPal, Realtime Payments, and more). You’ll work closely with our product and platform teams to add more rails and make everything cloud-based and customizable. Cash services fund customer accounts, making them an essential part of Apex’s suite of financial back-office solutions with high standalone value as well.

Apex Clearing product development teams are charged with building the services our clients love and are at the heart of our future product innovations. Apex has transformed its tech stack from on-premise infrastructure to the Cloud (GCP), and we need savvy developers to build out our cloud-native (GCP/AWS), event-driven (Apache Kafka), Microservices framework using technologies like Kubernetes/Docker, Protobuf/gRPC, Bazel/Github Actions, and more.

What you will do:

• · Learn from and apply design techniques and coding standards coached by our Senior Engineers.

• · Build resilient, self-scaling, self-healing services that allow you to sleep through the night.

• · Support the production systems that you build. This includes build, deployment (CI/CD), and monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty).

• · Write high-quality, well-tested code. Maintain high code-quality standards across your team via code reviews.

The skills you'll need to succeed:

• · 3-5+ years of experience as a software developer or similar job roles.
• · BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field.
• · Proven experience in using a language like Java, C#, C++, or Go to build high-throughput systems.
• · Ability to learn new technologies (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly.
• · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• · Experience with Google Cloud Platform / Amazon Web Services is a strong plus.
• · Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker is a plus.
• · Experience with protobuf and gRPC is a plus.
• · Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Google Pub/Sub is a plus.
• · Experience hiring, mentoring, and coaching other engineers is a plus.
• · Financial services background is a plus.
