The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. They create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and cutting-edge capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney's streaming and digital products.
What You Will Do

  • Collaborates closely with product and project management to translate requirements into technical specifications and timelines while partnering with other engineering teams to deliver solutions.
  • Write and maintain code quality through test driven development.
  • Contribute to code reviews, documentation, knowledge-sharing, and technical investigations.
  • Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to building new features.
  • Partner with UX to transform mock-ups into engaging, accessible web experiences.


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience with Javascript, Typescript, and React.
  • Write well-documented, clear, and robust code.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies and the browser environment.
  • Previous experience integrating api specifications while collaborating with service teams.
  • Excellent front-end debugging skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Shipped production level React/Node.js application with deployed to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals.
  • Experience working in Agile environment.
  • Strong knowledge to web standards and new technologies.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience


The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year and in NY, NY is $98,000 to $131,300 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
