About the role:
The Software Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing internal IT applications and related technical documentation. This role supports Takeda's mission by ensuring the development of efficient and effective software solutions that enhance the experience of internal and external users.
How you will contribute:
* Design and develop internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, and reporting systems
* Use Agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions
* Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications or User Stories
* Build and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications
* Collaborate with Agile team members to craft clear user stories and design tests for prototypes and products
* Communicate with IT teams about Digital innovations and with business stakeholders about Agile processes
Skills and qualifications:
* Applies basic C++ programming skills under guidance, following specific instructions
* Utilizes C# syntax rules and guidelines with oversight for basic tasks
* Engages in Java programming with basic problem-solving under supervision
* Executes Python coding tasks from tutorials or guides, with minimal experience in projects
* Styles web pages using CSS with instructions, lacking independent application skills
* Follows debugging protocols under close supervision, with limited problem-solving
* Conducts code reviews under supervision, with minimal independent judgment
* Understands Object-Oriented Programming basics, using predefined code examples
* Assists in computer engineering tasks with step-by-step instructions
* Creates simple web pages using HTML tags, relying heavily on guidelines
* Applies basic Object-Oriented Design principles under guidance
* Participates in Agile methodologies, contributing to team efforts and learning best practices
As an early-career professional, you handle problems of limited scope and complexity, adhering to established policies and procedures. Your decision-making is within a defined scope, using standardized methods to analyze situations and data. You are developing knowledge of basic principles, theories, and concepts, and beginning to apply industry practices and standards. Typically, this role requires some relevant experience, with contributions mostly related to task-specific activities. Your primary contacts are with your immediate team, and you work under moderate direction and close supervision, following specific, detailed instructions.
