As database administrator you would be responsible for the engineering, administration, sustainability, deployment, operation, and support of databases in the cloud and on-prem server infrastructure within the expected quality and Service Levels.

What you'll do
In your new role, you’ll engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions.
You’ll be working within a feature team and using your extensive experience to engineer software, scripts and tools that are often complex, as well as liaising with other engineers, architects and business analysts across the platform.
You’ll also be:

Ensure stable delivery and operation of the database infrastructure (Primarily Oracle and AWS RDS with preference for MSSQL, AWS Aurora & PostgreSQL) cloud-based or on-prem

Analysis and improvement of performance of the database, in collaboration with application developers

Product ownership - creating roadmaps, life cycles and documentation based on internal standards and processes

Support the capacity management process, delivering meaningful reporting and input for continuous im

Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands
The skills you'll need
You’ll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports our customers.
You’ll also need:

Experience of working with AWS RDS databases and necessary services in AWS

Experience in setup of resource monitoring with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and it’s analysis on Oracle database servers

Knowledge of Oracle database specific tools e.g. RMAN and Oracle RAC
-
Experience with Backup Systems, preferably CommVault
-
Experience working in cross-functional, multinational, and geographically dispersed teams, matrix organisation
-
Experienced in ITIL for Incident, Change and Problem Management
