What’s the role?  

The Software Engineer II is responsible for developing software for web-based ophthalmic products, including design, implementation, documentation, and testing of software. The engineer exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Here’s what you’ll do:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Contribute quality Typescript code to project in a professional manner
• Learn at a rapid rate the domain and software architecture
• Ask good questions while participating in software requirements analysis in a team environment.
• Make important contributions in software high-level design in a team environment.
• Exercise professionalism while implementing, reviewing, unit testing, integrating, and testing software modules
• Take responsibility while supporting customer service and DevOps
• Follow practices – security, quality, craftsmanship, testing
• Support Jr. Developers on good habits and practices
• Support SQA and other departments during software verification and validation for regulated products and markets.
• Maintain discipline while performing work according to company standards.

Do you qualify?

• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
• Three (3) years related experience.
• Experience developing for node.js with SPA frontends
• Experience using SQL databases
• Experience with Linux
• Ability to author good engineering documentation.
• Strong debugging & problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
