Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer Lead/ Data Science Librarian to manage and optimize databases supporting GEOINT product dissemination. This role will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and ensuring the accuracy of spatial content databases, including country/state boundary generation for GEOINT products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database management, geospatial components, and software engineering, ensuring seamless data integrity, automation, and efficient dissemination.
This position requires a highly collaborative individual with the ability to engage across multiple offices, maintain and enhance ingest and validation scripts, and support end-to-end software operations related to GEOINT product dissemination. Experience operating across multiple security domains is highly desirable. Additionally, this role requires a strong public-speaking presence, the ability to deliver briefings, and act as the face to the customer for technical discussions and stakeholder engagements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Database Management & Spatial Content Generation:
- Manage and maintain databases to support GEOINT product dissemination, including spatial content and country/state boundary generation.
- Develop, optimize, and enhance data ingest, validation scripts, stored procedures, and code to ensure data accuracy and efficient processing.
- Integrate and optimize geospatial components such as Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, and SDO_Geometry to improve data integrity and visualization.
Software Engineering & Automation:
- Maintain and enhance Perl scripts, Java code packages, and database constructs to improve automation and efficiency
- Develop and maintain schemas, stored procedures, and database validation tools to ensure reliable GEOINT product integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and database issues related to content dissemination, ensuring high availability and integrity of GEOINT data
Collaboration & Cross-Domain Support:
- Work across multiple offices and security domains (NIPRnet/Xenon, SIPRnet, JWICS) to ensure seamless data integration and secure dissemination
- Engage with stakeholders, product owners, and data users to optimize data structuring, usability, and distribution
- Support end-to-end operations for software and database systems related to GEOINT product dissemination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer briefings and technical discussions, ensuring clarity and transparency in database and dissemination processes.
Public Speaking & Customer Engagement:
- Develop and deliver presentations, briefings, and reports to customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Confidently represent the organization in customer-facing engagements, ensuring technical concepts are communicated effectively.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and training for internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
- TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- Strong experience developing Perl scripts, Java code packages, database constructs, schemas, and stored procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of database management with geospatial components, including Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, and SDO_Geometry.
- Proven ability to optimize and automate data ingest, validation, and dissemination workflows.
- Experience supporting software operations and maintenance for GEOINT content dissemination.
- Understanding of cross-domain data management and security protocols (NIPRnet/Xenon, SIPRnet, JWICS).
- Strong public-speaking skills, experience in delivering briefings and presenting technical concepts to leadership and customers.

Soft Skills & Collaboration:
- Ability to engage across multiple offices, ensuring database alignment with GEOINT product requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software and database issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams
- Comfortable speaking in front of customers and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in all communications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in government, defense, or intelligence environments
- Familiarity with cloud-based GIS and database solutions
- Knowledge of automation frameworks and DevSecOps best practices
- Certifications in Database Management, GIS, or Software Engineering
- Previous experience leading technical discussions and customer briefings

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
