Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Group Leader and experienced Agile Master to join our new development team at our Ovar site.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for the Competence Center Software Services Hub in Ovar.
  • Part of the leadership team of the Competence Center Software & Services, close collaboration, and communication with the leadership in Germany;
  • Responsible for team building and leading the cloud software engineering (development and operation) team and hub in Ovar;
  • As part of an agile development team, you will be responsible for designing, extending, and implementing software components and systems using modern technologies. You will consider customer requirements and applicable framework conditions;
  • Through guidance, coaching, and mentoring, you will support the team in designing and implementing requirements;
  • You will provide technical advice within the department and across departments and represent the team's technical perspective in decision-making processes;
  • You will moderate meetings e.g. team meetings, refinement meetings, planning meetings or reviews;
  • You support the team in resolving conflicts and removing impediments;
  • In day-to-day operations with our software developers, the technological skills you have, and your knowledge of standard moderation and agile methods will be of benefit to you—making it easy for you to motivate your co-workers to think and act in a solution-oriented manner;
  • Aid the development of product road maps to communicate future development activity;
  • Flesh out the technical aspects of user stories in collaboration with the respective stakeholders.


As a hub leader, it is your task to provide disciplinary leadership to the members of our on-site development teams and to ensure the organizational framework for our development activities.


Qualifications

Main experience required

  • A University or college degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related subject;
  • Good analytical and conceptional skills, complemented by solid communication, moderation, and conflict resolution skills;
  • Minimum of 5 years of software development experience with complex IT cloud infrastructures as well as experience in software development in agile teams focusing on Java, Spring, SQL/No-SQL, and build systems (e.g. Gradle, Maven). Knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Typescript, as well as Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. ARM, Bicep, Terraform, Ansible);
  • Knowledge in the use, deployment, and monitoring of services in public clouds, especially MS Azure, is advantageous;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an (agile) team lead for software development team;
  • Experience in leadership and organizational development;
  • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and principles;
  • Very good English and Portuguese communication and presentation abilities.
