Enterprise Quality is undergoing a huge transformation and we are looking to change the way we do testing. The Enterprise Quality Assurance team is architecting and designing the QA ecosystem for the Data, Analytics and SOA Platform. As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will play a pivotal role to establish frameworks for automated testing, SOA, Service virtualization, Enterprise data and data quality assurance in addition to helping the organization move towards Continuous testing practices. Lead the automation strategy design and implementation effort Effectively and efficiently mentor other QEs Manage Automation related deliverables (scripts, reports, presentations, tools) by working with multiple IT teams and their representatives Create and update Automation plans (project and execution plans)Work with multiple vendors, IT leaders, and business teams to align automation priorities with IT strategies.
Your core responsibilities will include:

Working with the development team and contributing to building quality upfront by contributing to unit testing, code review and increased automated testing.

Proven experience in creating effective test strategies and managing multiple teams.

Skilled in handling multiple vendors and efficiently running triage processes.

Participate in architecture and design reviews and offer thought leadership in driving efficiencies throughout the Software development life cycle.

Work with multiple vendors, IT leaders, and business teams to align automated testing priorities with IT strategies.

Champion the usage and adoption of automated testing and related tools (in-house and new external tools) across the organization.

Develop code that conforms to The Hartford coding standards and industry best practices.

Plan and implement Proof of concepts and pilots for new tools and technology evaluation.

Using Analytics to identify patterns/create predictive models for day-to-day use cases.

Lead initiatives for Performance testing and Security testing to build quality into the product.
Qualifications:
-
BS in Computer Science or any technical degree
-
5+ years of experience in Software testing and validation with over
-
2+ years of hands-on expertise in developing and scripting automated test (using Selenium/JavaScript/Typescript) in a corporate environment.
Must have technologies:

Java/Typescript/programming

Jenkins

Soap UI
-
Framework experience - Selenium, Playwright, Mobile Automation, and CA Agile Central (Rally)

Gen AI utilization
Nice to have:

Experience working in an Agile environment(Automation and integration).

Strong experience in developing and implementing End to End test strategies.

Preferred diverse background in Digital/Mobile/Web testing.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively across all levels.

Karate Framework
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$84,480 - $126,720
