They also support the design, development, and implementation of embedded software for wireless communications technologies and products. At Caliola, SDR engineers are problem solvers who enjoy solving hard technical problems quickly and creativity and applying innovative approaches to solve technical challenges. You will have the opportunity to mentor and develop a talented group to lead new advances in SDR engineering and push the leading edge of RF communication technologies. SDR Engineers work independently or under supervision across multiple projects within multiple business areas.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and prototype innovative new technologies to implement software defined radio systems, antennas, and circuits, for various applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- In our lab, develop, test and troubleshot SDR hardware, FPGA development systems, and RF signals using test and measurement equipment.
- Support multiple programs developing and testing novel processing algorithms running on a software defined radio.
- Develop software and firmware source code in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages to support Caliola's Design, implement, and maintain test harnesses used to support wireless communications product and prototype development.
- Develop and plan for SDR operational testing to demonstrate performance in communication and networking systems.
- Optimize and refine SDR algorithms and implementations to meet evolving operational needs.
- Work with Systems Engineers to define requirements for realizing new signal processing algorithms.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and manuals.
