Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Content Specialist at UL Research Institutes, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office. The Social Media Content Specialist develops, curates, and manages high-quality content across various social platforms and adapts to evolving social trends. The Content Specialist focus is to engage and educate the target audience while effectively conveying ULRI’s brand message and values. This is a hybrid position, two days a week in office.

What you’ll learn and achieve:

As the Social Media Content Specialist, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Create compelling and relevant written, visual, and multimedia content, infographics, videos, and more. Develop content that aligns with the brand's tone, style, and messaging guidelines.

  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing graphics and images that enhance content effectiveness.

  • Contribute to the development of the content strategy and calendar, ensuring a consistent and cohesive brand narrative by conducting thorough research to identify industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor activities, and incorporate findings into the content plan.

  • Manage and update the company's social channels with fresh and engaging content. Utilize social media management software (SMM)to upload, format, and publish content.

  • Monitor and optimize existing content for search engine marketing.

  • Develop and execute social media content that drives engagement, brand awareness, and audience growth. Monitor social media channels and stay updated with social media trends and adjust content strategies accordingly.

  • Analyze content performance metrics, such as website traffic, engagement rates, and social media insights. Derive insights from data to refine content strategies, enhance user experience, and achieve business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and research teams, to ensure content aligns with overall business goals and campaigns.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts to create accurate and authoritative content.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, social media marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in social media content creation.
