We are looking for an experienced Social Media Content Creator to join the Communications team to maintain and grow Google DeepMind’s priority social media channels, deepen digital brand engagement, and drive positive sentiment.
Reporting into the Social Media and Influencer Engagement Lead, you will work with teams across the organisation to curate and create social-first storytelling to bring our research, work and impact to life, support with and deliver integrated comms and marketing campaigns, and promote greater awareness and understanding of our work among target audiences - including AI superfans, tech enthusiasts and developers.
The ideal candidate preferably has extensive experience in social media marketing, either as an independent creator, within the tech sector or for a recognisable brand - and is excited about the opportunity to craft stories on how AI could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions.

The Role

We’re looking for a curious and detail-oriented Social Media Content Creator to bring their communication, marketing, technical and production skills to one of the most exciting and innovative organisations around today.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan, produce and publish daily content across our X, LinkedIn and Instagram to reach and grow existing audiences
  • Help lead on copywriting and content creation to amplify our latest products and technical and scientific research, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Google
  • Commission, create, script and edit social-native assets including animations, infographics and short-form videos, hand-in-hand with our design team and portfolio of agencies
  • Engage with the AI superfan and developer community directly - fostering two-way conversations on social media and building strong relationships to drive awareness and adoption of Google DeepMind models and technologies
  • Work with the Marketing team to provide topline qualitative and quantitative analysis, insights and recommendations to key stakeholders to help support and influence social media strategy
  • Uphold current social media guidelines and give advice on best practice to ensure consistent quality and best performance on social media
  • Assist the Social Media and Influencer Engagement Lead to act as a point of call for internal social media enquiries
  • Explore opportunities to expand our presence through new features on existing channels - or build capacities on new ones, such as Reddit

About You

To set you up for success as a Social Media Content Creator at Google DeepMind,  we look for the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to translate complex topics around AI and machine learning for a wider audience. You’ll have a rich portfolio of previous content you’ve produced to reflect this skill
  • Demonstrated experience owning a social calendar and creating original content for social for a major brand - preferably in the tech sector.
  • Experience of using social media tools such as Sprinklr
  • Demonstrable curiosity about AI research and science, reading widely and engaging with relevant topics & themes.
  • Able to build positive relationships with colleagues across the organisation, and effectively manage stakeholder relationships, both internal and external.
  • Strong ability to manage yourself and time, working effectively across multiple priorities
  • Keeps up with changes in an ever-evolving social media landscape
  • A self starter with a can-do, solutions oriented approach - no ask is too big or too small.
