Printpack Bloomington is looking for candidates to fill a night shift Slitter Operator position.

The Slitter Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, quality production,
general adjustments of the machine and general operational maintenance.
This position will work a 12 hour night shift (7PM-7AM) on Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs nights for a total of 48 hours a week.
Pay for this position will be $21.08 with an additional $2.50 premium for all hours worked between 7 PM and 7 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate slitter in order to:
- Ensure safety
- Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals
- Meet or exceed the customers' (both internal and external) expectations
- Meet the highest of quality standards
- Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information
- Input production data to a computer accurately and timely to include waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.
- Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations
- Prepare master rolls for slitting
- Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing
- Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) – for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold)
- Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary)
- Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at beginning of job
- Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift
- Remove and weigh all waste.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or G.E.D Equivalent
- Stable work history
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong time management skills and ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot problems
- Must have the ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Manufacturing/machine operation experience
Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, squat
- Must be able to grasp, push, pull and have fine motor skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses
