Job Description
- Complies with all plant administrative rules.
- Complies with all applicable operating procedures.
- Obeys the plant safety rules.
- Operates powered industrial equipment to move charges in and out of cylinder and along the drip track.
- Shifts, spots and relocates trams and charges from A & B Mill to Cylinders.
- Position charges in cylinders and after completion of treating process, pulls and spots charges for unloading.
- Moves empty trams as needed.
- Moves and installs door impact wrench as needed.
- Closes and opens treating cylinder doors.
- Obeys signals of crewmen during the switching, spotting, and movement of trams.
- Performs preventive maintenance.
- Assists maintenance personnel in performing major repairs and adjustments.
- Removes chains and binders.
- Has authority to shop trams as necessary to comply with quality standards and work efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Performs all required SH&E responsibilities.
- Assist with oil car unloading as needed.
Responsibilities
- Complies with all SH&E regulations and corporate and plant SH&E policies and procedures.
- Promptly and properly reports all incidents, injuries, damages, spills and/or releases.
- Promptly reports and, if possible, corrects all unsafe acts and/or conditions.
- Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the applicable PPE hazard assessments (including restricted use pesticide PPE requirements).
- Clean-shaven in the respiratory facepiece sealing area.
- Completes all SH&E inspections assigned by management.
- Performs required housekeeping activities.
- Cleans up drippage from drip tracks and places hazardous waste into proper containers.
- Ensures containers are properly labeled and closed.
- Cleans up drippage in Treated Wood Storage Yard.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Pass preemployment medical screening.
- Medically cleared to wear required respiratory protection.
- Qualitatively or quantitatively demonstrates a face to facepiece seal.
- Certified as a powered industrial equipment operator.
- Authorized as an permit confined space attendant and/or entrant.
- Trained as authorized personnel and/or affected personnel for lockout/tagout.
- Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements.
- Trained to handle hazardous waste.
