What will this role achieve?
This is an exciting project opportunity with a dynamic and wide-ranging scope at our Aintree Facility. You will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Health & Safety pertaining to an ongoing project, in line with the group’s systems and policies. There will also be day to day support for the site and current HSE team as appropriate to support the HSE agenda at site.
Your will involve some or all of the following
- Providing advice, guidance and support against legal frameworks and best practices on project plans
- Look for improvement opportunities and improved ways of working
- Assisting sites with incident investigations and disseminating the findings.
- Providing guidance and support on HSE practices
Have a strong awareness in Health & Safety is your utmost priority, and to provide appropriate advice and support.
What will be your key deliverables?
- Attend Project forums and company meetings (where required) and support / work with the project leads on existing and any new proposed initiatives.
- Cultivate a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health & Safety matters in order to provide the Site Safety, Quality, Security & Environmental Manager with advice and support pertaining to project plans.
- Support the Drive and Delivery of continuous improvement in all aspects of the business Health & Safety management systems and standards, in line with the group’s systems and policies.
- Ensure risk assessment support, completion and advice pertaining to the project plans.
- Ensure all documentation is compiled correctly and appropriately filed and any actions are followed up and an action plan created
- Act as site support for the investigation and review of significant accidents, incidents, complaints events, and the identification of solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Drive close out of issues and non-conformances, feeding into the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for Health & Safety issues.
- Takes an active part in site Health & Safety committees drive the Health & Safety agenda for the site.
- Maintains a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health & Safety matters in order to provide the SQSE Manager and the business with appropriate advice and support.
- Support in monitoring and updating HSE notice-boards, correcting appropriate signage on site i.e., LTI and accident statistics updates
Bring your experience
Essential
- NEBOSH / NCRQ certificate
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role
- Significant experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
- Proficient knowledge of Health & Safety Law and its application
Desirable
- Graduate Membership of IOSH(or working towards)
- Qualification in Environmental Management IEMA /NEBOSH
- Degree / Diploma in relevant Health & Safety subject
- Working knowledge and experience of CDM, PUWER and Work at Height Regulations
