Position Summary

The Togetherhood On-Site Afterschool Program Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of Togetherhood’s afterschool classes at a specific partner site. The schedule is 2:30-4:30pm, Monday - Thursday and is a perfect part-time job for someone who lives in the Bronx (ideally Riverdale). This individual will act as the cornerstone of reliability, ensuring that the Togetherhood afterschool classes are all hallmarks of excellence. Responsibilities include acting as an on-call substitute for unplanned absences across any class category (this is the most important responsibility), coordinating daily course operations, maintaining high program standards, and acting as the primary on site liaison between Togetherhood instructors and the partner site's afterschool director.

By fostering a supportive and organized environment, the coordinator ensures that instructors and students can focus on meaningful, enriching activities, while school administrators can trust that the Togetherhood classes are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Oversight:
  • Administer check-in procedures for Togetherhood instructors upon arrival.
  • Monitor all classes to ensure adherence to quality and behavioral standards.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of materials, ordering and restocking as needed.
• Lesson Planning and Substitution:
  • Obtain from each instructor of each class at least two ready-to-use lesson plans available at all times.
  • Act as an on-call substitute on any topic (sports, performing arts, art, STEM, etc) during unplanned teacher absences, guaranteeing no disruption to the program.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Serve as the primary on site liaison with the partner site's afterschool director, addressing any needs or concerns promptly.
  • Maintain consistent communication with program staff, school administration, and Togetherhood leadership to ensure alignment.
• Instructor Support and Development:
  • Assist in problem-solving and managing student behavior when needed.
  • Collaborate directly with Togetherhood's Customer Success Manager to ensure quality and success of Togetherhood Programming.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as part of a highly collaborative and diverse team.
• Minimum of three years working with elementary school students in teaching, coaching, or other related roles.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in G Suite, Salesforce, texting apps, and other platforms.
• Comfort working in dynamic environments and maintaining calm under pressure.

Please note the following details: (1) when the partner site is closed for a school holiday, this position is not scheduled to work and the day is not paid (2) the partner has a specific dress code which includes modest, professional attire that covers the arms, legs, and torso. Visible body piercings, other than earrings worn in the earlobes, are not permitted. The employee should maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.
