Simulation Engineer – Industrial Circuit Protection
Littelfuse is seeking a highly motivated person to join the Engineering team within the Industrial Business Unit as a Simulation Engineer. Reporting to the Application Engineering Manager, the Simulation Engineer is responsible for the design and development of physics-based models and analysis (thermal and mechanical) of component and system designs for optimization and performance predictions of industrial circuit protection technologies. Applicants should be self-motivated, innovative individuals who work well both independently as well as in a team role and have a good track record of having a deep understanding of physics with the ability to transfer this knowledge into designs with superior performance. The Simulation Engineer will work with multiple engineering groups and other business functions to enhance the technical expertise of Littelfuse, and will support key Littelfuse initiatives in emerging markets.
About the Job:
- Design, develop, modify and evaluate physics-based, predictive performance models, techniques and procedures for component design optimization and enhancement.
- Development of component testing techniques and procedures to validate model-based predictions and results.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure compliance with design geometries and material selection
- Execute custom simulations to support Application, Research, and Reliability Engineering teams
- Utilize, optimize, and advance Multiphysics simulation software for
- Thermal modeling
- Pressure modeling
- Design optimization
- Arc modeling
Requirements:
- B.S degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or similar discipline
- Thorough understanding of core principles of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with the development and analysis of physics-based models relative to thermal and mechanical performance of design components and systems.
- Proven track record of project execution
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Driven, self-developer, and eager to make a change
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Strong communication skills and fluent in English (written and verbal)
- Motivated to join an international, fast-paced environment
- Passionate about technology and looking to apply that passion to a career
- Willing to travel within country or region up to 10%
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and use of engineering drawings
- Experience in COMSOL and/or Ansys simulation packages
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art engineering tools, materials and processes
- B.S with 5 plus years of experience or a M.S degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or similar discipline
