We are now looking to expand our team with a Functional Safety/SIL Engineer who has a strong focus on software, hardware, and processes
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
•Develop, implement, and maintain functional safety concepts and requirements for software, hardware, and processes.
•Perform safety analysis and risk assessments, including FMEA, FTA, etc. to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
•Create and review safety plans, safety cases, and verification & validation plans.
•Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262).
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, system architects, and project managers, to integrate safety requirements into the overall system design.
•Conduct software and hardware safety verification and validation activities, including static and dynamic analysis, testing, and reviews.
•Provide technical guidance and training to team members on functional safety practices and principles.
•Maintain documentation related to safety activities, including safety requirements, design documents, and test reports.
•Support certification and assessment processes with external safety assessors and certification bodies.
•Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to functional safety.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
•Proven experience (2+ years) in functional safety engineering, with a focus on software, hardware, and processes in an industrial setting.
•In-depth knowledge of functional safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262).
•Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), hardware development processes, and safety lifecycle.
•Experience with safety analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, FTA, HAZOP) and certification process.
•Understanding of programming languages such as C, C++, or similar is desired.
•Familiarity with electrical design and development tools and methodologies (e.g., PCB design, electrical simulations or analysis).
•Experience with industrial process control systems.
