Merkle is experiencing rapid growth in our Shopify Commerce practice, and we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven, Go-to-Market, Shopify Commerce Practice to lead our market expansion and practice build-out. You will develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy, building partnerships within the Shopify ecosystem, and driving demand for Merkle's Shopify-related delivery/practice services.

You're primary focus on commercial management of the team, including go-to-market strategy, offering innovation, and practice leadership responsibilities, this role "GTM & Commercial Lead" role is for a hybrid practitioner – an expert in modern human-centered digital customer experiences; best practices in front-end and back-end engineering with respect to Shopify; and depth-in commerce-adjacent technologies, such as order management, inventory management, PIM/PXM, POS, payments, and platforms. You have a deep-rooted experience with technology, hands-on experience building leading commerce systems, and inspire program delivery talent.

You will possess an understanding of the Shopify platform (both B2C and B2B), and a proven track record in driving revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and communicate a vision for the Shopify Practice across Americas, while ensuring understanding across the practice groups / technology sub-disciplines and domains.
  • Be an Executive Sponsor on high-profile Shopify engagements; consult directly with clients and help steer high priority client relationships
  • Support Shopify new business pitches and client development / cross-sell opportunities
  • Establish a Shopify learning agenda to enrich the community by overseeing industry trends, while focusing on new technology and solutioning at the intersection of our industry-leading capabilities, in consideration of the CX overall solution roadmap and go-to-market plan
  • Work with practice leads to create toolkits, frameworks, templates, and other IP that can be adapted/adopted across the discipline to accelerate time to market while boosting brand and delivery consistency
  • You will oversee and contribute to a Shopify thought leadership plan and roadmap, working with practices leads, Merkle Marketing, and the broader community building the Merkle CX brand with a consistent voice and tone across multiple channels including digital, corporate comms, and event engagement.
  • You'll develop mechanisms to enhance the quality of Technology work across Merkle Americas for Shopify (e.g., hands-on delivery, pitches, training programs, recurring work share meetings)
  • Work with Client Finance and practice leads to develop Shopify cross-practice tracking, reporting for staffing and utilization mgmt..

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of postgraduate work experience; success and progressively increasing responsibilities within the technology space, including consulting organizations, top-tier marketing agencies or similar professional services environments
  • 3+ years of direct Shopify leadership experience (both Shopify B2C and B2B)
  • Shopify domain experience across modern marketing technologies (including CRM, consumer data platforms, and marketing automation), experience technologies (front-end experience delivery, search, latest experiences), Shopify skillset (payments, order management, product inventory management, inventory management). Familiarity with modern patterns (headless, composability).
  • Demonstrated history of public presentation and engagement with Shopify communities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or similar

This role is remote with some travel and can sit in any time zone in the United States, reporting to GTM and Commercial Lead. This role will have managerial responsibilities.

The annual salary range for this position is $196,000-$316,6250. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
