JOB PURPOSE

You will have the overall responsibility for managing occupational health, occupational safety and industrial environment to achieve excellence on site. You will work with supply chain teams to develop the SHE strategy and improvement plans to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries expressed in TRFR and environmental impacts such that waste, effluents, emissions, energy, consumption, CO2.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • Identify Safety Health and Environment (SHE) objectives relevant to the site and deploy the global/regional/local SHE strategy, policy and standards in the factory aligned with business requirements.

  • Monitor & analyze SHE KPIs across the site and ensure compliance while developing and implementing plans to improve the safety culture of site.

  • Ensure all site activities comply with legal and other requirements relating to SHE including the updating of OHS and EC legal and other requirement registers, conducting regular audits and taking required actions, monitoring changes, and communicating to area owners.

  • Ensure reporting of all incidents, non-conformities including serious occurrences and implementation of corrective and preventive actions whilst monitoring incidents/incident trend analysis.

  • Ensure sharing of lessons learnt from incidents, including from other sites. 

  • Leading and developing the internal and external crises committees and safety committees: support serious incidents investigation and analysis.

  • Driving safety risk assessment and environmental aspects assessments.

  • Developing and deploy internal SHE audits, and inspection systems.

  • Coordinating internal /external audits and ensure of action closure (Eg: PAR, electrical safety, process safety, health & environment audits).

  • Developing, implementing & monitoring plans to control Occupational SHE issues on the site whilst managing the occupational SHE teams to drive results.

  • Working on an agenda to eliminate or reduce major site risks: develop and implement and monitor the investment plans to reduce or minimize occupational SHE risks in the site.

  • Assisting site technical authorities as per process safety requirements and drive process safety agenda at site.

  • Working on the reduction of environment impact of our operations such as waste, effluent, emissions, carbon and energy consumption.

  • Ensuring and support the supplier/ Third Party corporate social responsibility (CSR) assessment and audit program.

  • Determining training needs and preparing SHE skill assessments, training plans, assisting in the delivery of SHE trainings, and developing trainers for SHE modules. Work as a trainer and mentor when required.

  • Ensure adequate emergency preparedness and response including updating and maintaining emergency procedures, training on emergency procedures and arranging mock drills.

  • Review & update SHE manual for site.  

  • Maintain system procedures and communication in line with document control responsibility matrix. Refer SHE responsibility matrix for records management.

  • Do monthly, bi-annual & annual reporting as per Unilever standards.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Candidate should have a Science or Engineering degree from a recognized university. 

  • Experience of 3+ years in safety, health, and environment functions. Prior experience of SHE in FMCG manufacturing will be an added advantage.

  • Should be able to lead the function aligning to business objectives.

  • Good PR & communications skills.

  • Strong relationship management, communication and analytical skills
