Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You Will Get To Do:
The selected candidate will be part of the Command and Launch Command and Control (C2) Product Engineering Team.
Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
- Perform requirements analysis, review and document source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and develop software/hardware architecture for integrated LRUs
- Interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Sentinel Node structure and behavior across UPDM/SysML/UML MBSE frameworks
- Support requirement decomposition, derivation, and traceability.
- Support development of MBSE strategy and MBSE implementation.
- Coordinate with sub-contracted product teams to drive compliance to the SOW and established program model governance.
- Help develop technical content for presentations and present to internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
- Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and 14 Years experience, 12 Years experience with a Masters, and 9 Years experience with a PhD.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Top Secret security clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- 1 year of experience using MBSE to decompose and define system/product functionality
- 1 year of experience in evaluating/writing requirements, leading small architecture teams, decomposing functionality in CAMEO.
- 1 year of experience using DOORS to manage requirements and specification baselines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with ground systems and driving command and control architecture development
- Experience working on Agile programs and methodology
- Experience working in UAFP, SysML, and UML MBSE frameworks
- Strong technical leadership and experience managing a small team
- Previous experience developing architecture guidance for program utilization
- Experience with task management tools (preferably JIRA) and EVMS
- Interface with program and customer personnel.
- Familiarity with developing system/LRU level architectures and interfaces.
- Strong written and oral communications skills
Salary Range: $142,500.00 - $213,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
