Who you’ll be working with
We build the solutions dreamed up by the product and design teams. Our goal is to deliver working software every two weeks. We are a large team that spans across three global offices, but we collaborate and integrate front- and back-end components and interfaces to provide a user-centered experience through web and mobile platforms.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building the website front-end.
- Creating the website architecture.
- Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues.
- Conducting WordPress training with the client.
- Proactive post-release monitoring of site performance.
- Consulting, designing, and implementing new features and functionality.
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Need to lead the development of WordPress websites, plugins, themes, and custom functionality while ensuring the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.
- You will be responsible for overseeing code quality through regular code reviews, addressing performance bottlenecks, and troubleshooting issues to optimize site functionality.
What you’ll need to be successful (Requirements)
- 5+ years of experience in WordPress development, particularly in custom themes and plugins.
- Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Experience with modern frontend/CSS frameworks (e.g., TailwindCSS, BEM)
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automated build systems
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Experience with collaborative tools (Jira, Slack, etc.)
- Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience building user interfaces for websites and web applications
- Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, and Mercurial etc.
- Good understanding of SEO implications during migrations and URL restructuring.
- Exposure to WooCommerce, Elementor, Divi plugins in addition to other third party integrations would be a plus.
- Basic understanding of securing a WP site is expected.
