Team mission
The Traveler UX team designs end-to-end experiences for modern explorers, enabling them to search and discover unforgettable travel experiences that fit their interests and travel needs.
You will:
- Lead and manage a team of 4-5 designers
- Enable the design team to execute the Traveler's overall strategy and vision
- Develop relationships, strategize and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and leads across PM, engineering, UX, UX research, Engineering, and Data analytics to problem solve and look at the user experience and customer journeys, end-to-end
- Help designers on the team with career milestones and performance goals
- Uphold a high bar of product quality and design craft through participating in design reviews, cross-functional project discussions and frequently raising quality improvements
Who you are
- Previous experience leading and managing a team of at least 3-4 designers for B2C (consumer) or B2B products
- Previous experience as a design manager with scope including leading designers and responsible for at least 2 verticals with a high level of complexity and ambiguity resulting in measurable impact results
- Past experience as a senior designer working on B2C and/or B2B product experiences
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management
- Communicating with multiple levels of stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Experience designing and leading teams for consumer-facing marketplace products is preferred but not required
- Track record of 5-6 years of design and people management experience at a startup or mid to large size company
- Experience scaling design teams at a mid to late-stage startup
