As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Senior UX Designer with expertise in user research, design systems, and prototyping to join our team.

Objectives & Responsibilities

In your capacity as Product Management Associate, you will report to the Vice President of Product.

About you

You’re passionate about getting to know users and what makes them tick. You love discovering how our product is used in the real world and sharing new insights with the team. You know that the details matter and find joy in adding moments of delight to your designs. You’re a self-starter and comfortable working in ambiguity. Specific responsibilities include:

User Research

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand the needs, pain points, and behaviors of grantmakers, executives and nonprofit partners.
  • Analyze research findings to generate actionable insights that guide design decisions.
  • Facilitate usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience. Leverage your knowledge of usability best practices to inform design through the process.

Prototyping and Interaction Design

  • Create high-fidelity prototypes and interaction flows using tools like Figma or Sketch to communicate design concepts and test usability.
  • Integrate user feedback to improve intuitive design and discoverability.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.

Product Strategy and Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Managers to align on project goals, priorities, and timelines.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead brainstorming sessions, product planning, and design critiques.
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring that design solutions align with business goals and provide a superior user experience.

Design Systems

  • Contribute to our design system to ensure consistency across all products and platforms. Propose elegant solutions to complex scenarios. Help simplify existing design patterns.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure seamless implementation of design system components.
  • Document design guidelines and best practices to create a shared language around our design philosophy.

Key requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user research, prototyping and design systems.
  • User Research: Demonstrated ability to conduct user research, analyze findings, and apply insights to design decisions.
  • Tools: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch or similar.
  • Prototyping: Strong skills in creating interactive prototypes that demonstrate complex user flows and interactions.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically about design and user experience, balancing user needs with business goals.

Nice to Have:

  • Design Systems: Experience building and maintaining design systems, with a strong understanding of design consistency and scalability.
  • Experience with animation or micro-interactions.
  • Familiarity with web technologies to better understand implementation constraints.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
