Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Senior User Experience (UX) Designer to join our experience design team in AutoCAD and Connected Infrastructure, working directly on the AutoCAD web application. The successful candidate will be passionate about design, persuasive in articulating design choices, and engage effectively with different audiences to deliver the best possible user experience. You will have previous experience in UX design, with a solid understanding of the full design and development cycle; including research, analysis of complex user and business requirements, concepting, wire-framing and prototyping, testing, and ultimately launch and release. Previous industry experience in Architecture, Engineering and Construction or design for these markets is highly valued.
You will report directly to the Senior Experience Design Manager for AutoCAD web and mobile and work closely with a global team of designers, researchers, product leads, development teams and key users to improve existing user experiences and drive feature adoption. AutoCAD’s world-class, global Experience Design (XD) Team is part of Autodesk’s Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Solutions organization. In this role, supporting the AutoCAD and Connected Infrastructure business, you will deliver products that reach millions of customers, generate over 1B dollars in annual revenue, and create experiences used to design and build around the globe.

Responsibilities

Create compelling artifacts (wireframes, conceptual diagrams, task flows, storyboards, prototypes, and documentation) that outline present conditions and proposed solutions

Participate in and in some cases, lead, customer research activities during the planning, strategic development, early design and validation phases

Participate in customer interaction in many forms, from interviews to sprint demos to usability testing

Visualize and prototype intended solutions at various levels of fidelity, from sketches to high-level wireframes or mock-ups to conceptual presentations

Meet with customers and development partners to validate designs and make iterative improvements

Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to define great experiences from initial concept through to successful implementation

Partner with development teams to drive successful implementation of the user experience design specifications

Use design-thinking techniques to break through organizational silos and collaboratively solve complex design challenges

Communicate your designs, rationale and the core user problems they are solving to peers and business partners

Understand and contribute to design systems that support products across Autodesk
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of experience in user experience design

Proven track record of designing and implementing successful solutions for complex workflows

Proficiency in design and productivity software such as Figma, Illustrator, Airtable or similar

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail

Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Agile software design methods

Experience with Autodesk software or comparable products
-
Previous experience within the Architectural, Engineering or Construction industries

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $86,300 and $126,500. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
