About This Position

We are searching for a Senior UI/UX Engineer to join our software team. As a Senior UI/UX Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the front-end components of our platform using Nuxt 3. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs and business requirements into seamless, intuitive, and visually engaging user interfaces. Beyond writing code, you'll play an important role in fostering a collaborative, ego-free culture within the team, providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, and ensuring that best practices are followed.

This is a highly collaborative role where the ability to communicate and work well with others is just as important as technical expertise. We’re looking for someone who is focused on building great user experiences while helping elevate the skills of those around them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front-End Development: Build, maintain, and optimize dynamic and responsive user interfaces using Nuxt 3, Vue.js, and other modern web technologies.
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior UI developers, offering constructive feedback, reviewing pull requests, and helping them grow technically and professionally.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other business units to ensure alignment between design, functionality, and user experience.
  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Establish and promote best practices in front-end development, ensuring clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • User-Centered Design: Collaborate with UX designers to implement user-friendly interfaces that are intuitive, responsive, and performant across different devices and browsers.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize front-end code for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring a seamless experience for users.
  • Testing: Write unit tests and end-to-end tests for front-end components to ensure code quality and minimize defects.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest front-end trends, tools, and technologies to ensure our UI stack remains modern and competitive.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive Front-End Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in UI development, with deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js is preferred, or React/Angular with a willingness to learn Vue.js).
  • Nuxt 3 Proficiency: Strong experience working with Nuxt 3 and its ecosystem, including Vue 3, Composition API, Vue Router, and Vuex.
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript: Deep understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, SCSS) and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Responsive and Mobile-First Design: Proven ability to design and build responsive, mobile-first web applications that work across a wide range of devices and screen sizes.
  • Mentorship Skills: Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding junior developers, offering constructive feedback, and helping to shape the professional growth of others.
  • UI/UX Collaboration: Experience working closely with UX/UI designers to bring designs to life and ensure high-quality, user-centered designs are implemented.
  • Testing: Experience with front-end testing tools (e.g., Jest, Cypress, or Mocha) to ensure high-quality, bug-free code.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle complex front-end challenges while maintaining a focus on simplicity and performance.
  • Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of security best practices, especially as they relate to data protection, authentication, and secure coding principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design System Experience: Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system or component library to ensure consistency and reusability across projects.
  • API Integration: Experience integrating front-end components with backend services, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • State Management: Proficiency with state management in Nuxt.js (Pinia) or similar solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Experience with performance profiling, lazy loading, code splitting, and other techniques for optimizing front-end performance.
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, Operations, or relevant field experience.
