At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.
Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.
About the Team:
The Technology Development team uses Relativity’s Stargate advanced manufacturing platform to produce large-scale metal structures for the industrial base. The team works with robotics engineers, data scientists, systems engineers, welders, and material science to advance Relativity’s innovative tech stack and produce, which leverages autonomy, advanced simulation, machine learning, and robotics. Working at the intersection of hardware and software, the team is creating a unified platform that can perform additive manufacturing, in-situ monitoring, non-destructive evaluation, and subtraction capabilities in a single manufacturing cell. Progressing in parallel to Terran R development, Relativity’s breakthroughs in large-scale additive manufacturing have the potential to revolutionize the defense industrial base.
About the Role:
- Shape Relativity’s focus for future product lines by evaluating the feasibility of advanced manufacturing services requested by external Customers
- Identify standard and non-standard services and work cross-functionally to develop project concepts, capable of meeting or exceeding customer requirements, including definition of time and cost estimates for customer programs
- Engage with technical and non-technical customer representatives in technical meetings, presentations, and trade related events
- Develop and negotiate statement of work and technical requirements
- Serve as initiator of establishing new customer programs once executed, driving lessons learned upon program completion
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering-related field with 2+ years’ experience in technical, customer-facing role
- Experienced in structures development involving design requirements, CAD, structural analysis, additive manufacturing, complex assembly integration
- 2+ years of experience working with Tier 1 Aerospace suppliers in a customer facing role
- Ability to understand complex technical topics and describe them in layman’s terms, curiosity and wonder to facilitate creative solutions, ability to meet strict deadlines
Nice to haves but not required:
- Additive manufacturing, welding, and/or structures design background
- Experience with contracting mechanisms for government contracts
- CAD experience (NX, Rhino 3D preferred)
- Self-starter with ability to adapt in fast-paced environment, comfortable bringing definition to loosely defined tasks
- Familiarity with metallography, pressure vessels, certification experience for ASME BPVC, NAVSEA, NASA and/or ESA design certifications

What We Do
A rocket company at the core, Relativity Space is on a mission to become the next great commercial launch company. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable launch vehicle, will reliably deliver payloads to orbit on-time and on-budget for customers – meeting the needs of growing demand for space infrastructure. Leveraging the benefits of additive manufacturing to design, test, and iterate at a pace unmatched in the industry, we are changing the way rockets are built and flown.
Our long-term goal is to create humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to fundamentally expand the possibilities of the human experience. The first step toward this vision starts here on Earth, by building the next great commercial launch company.
Why Work With Us
For 60 years, aerospace manufacturing has relied on fixed tooling and complex supply chains to slowly build rockets comprised of hundreds of thousands of parts. Leveraging advances in additive manufacturing, Relativity Space is strategically focused on reducing vehicle complexity, cost, and time to market.
