ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive execution, delivery, and success for Apex’s Data Governance & Tooling Team and Platform apps team. You will serve as the backbone of program management, ensuring our platforms and services meet organizational objectives, regulatory compliance, and customer needs. As a Senior TPM, you'll work closely with engineering, product management, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to oversee and improve our data governance frameworks, internal tooling, and the platform apps teams who design / run services which provide business critical functionality that can be used across multiple or all Apex business lines. This role plays at the intersection of program execution excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and technical depth. 

Duties/Responsibilities 

Program Management and Delivery:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of programs within the Data Governance & Tooling Team and Platform apps team from initiation to deployment. 

  • Ensure clear program objectives, timelines, and risks are established and track progress to align with organizational goals. 

  • Provide visibility into program progress, risks, and milestones through structured reporting to stakeholders and leadership. 

Data Governance Frameworks and Tooling:

  • Drive the development, implementation, and optimization of data governance frameworks and internal tooling capabilities, ensuring regulatory-compliant data management. 

  • Facilitate adherence to industry best practices related to data integrity, metadata management, and privacy standards. 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement internal tools that enhance Apex’s operational efficiencies and data use. 

Platform Apps Program Oversight:

  • Platform apps design and run services which provide business-critical functionality that can be used across multiple or all Apex business lines.

  • Manage the delivery of Apex’s Platform apps, products, and programs successfully. 

  • Ensure system scalability, reliability, and compliance with fintech standards. 

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define KPIs for Platform Apps 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver complex programs on time without compromising quality. 

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment across business goals, resources, and delivery expectations. 

Technical Oversight and Execution:

  • Provide hands-on support to teams, removing obstacles, managing dependencies, and prioritizing deliverables. 

  • Assess and resolve technical risks in collaboration with engineering and cybersecurity teams. 

  • Maintain a deep understanding of data infrastructure, event-driven systems, and emerging IAM (Identity Access Management) adjacent tools. 

Performance Optimization:

  • Define success metrics and regularly analyze program performance to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Automate and refine reporting structures, tooling, and operational workflows to ensure sustainable execution. 

Regulatory and Security Alignment:

  • Ensure programs adhere to financial industry regulations, including SOC II, and other applicable data governance standards. 

  • Actively collaborate with compliance and security teams to meet audit and risk requirements. 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, CSM) are preferred. 

  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on data governance, internal tooling infrastructure, and large-scale event-driven systems 

  • Preferred experience in the fintech industry or a comparable, highly regulated environment. 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong technical understanding of data management frameworks, event-driven architectures, and modern tooling solutions. 

  • Familiarity with technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, or other key event services tools. 

  • Deep understanding of data privacy, security standards, and governance frameworks such as CCPA, SOC II, or ISO. 

  • Exceptional program and project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities across multiple teams and initiatives. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with talent for influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • A problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement. 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a hybrid, minimum of 2x a week office environment

  • Monday to Friday day shift schedule

  • Willingness to work "shoulder hours" to ensure effective collaboration with U.S.-based stakeholders. 

  • Ability to travel internationally (to the U.S.) when needed for stakeholder meetings, team building, or critical program milestones
