Get to Know the Role

As a Senior Technical Program Specialist, you'll manage complex, cross-functional programs and bridge business and engineering teams. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll create and maintain delivery roadmaps and improve program processes using data-driven methods. This role provides growth opportunities in program management and technical leadership.

This role is hybrid and office location is at Malaysia.

The day-to-day activities:

  • Drive roadmap planning and prioritization discussion with other functional leaders, and TPMs.
  • Provide advice or inputs on large complex issues related to Tech, Business, and Product.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects as an advisor, and own some or all of the delivery of 1-2 large cross-org programs.
  • Facilitate Technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation details and remove blockers for the team.
  • Partner with TPMs within the team for general project and program management - define and drive project timelines, and milestones, track & report progress, and resolve impediments. You are accountable for the management and delivery of programs or projects within the team.
  • Continuously find ways to help teams and the organization improve how it delivers.
  • Manage cross-functional communication to ensure that all business and technical stakeholders' needs are aligned and you show excellent judgment in managing executive-level escalations.

Qualifications

What Skills You Will Need

  • Program Management Experience: At least 10+ years of hands-on program and delivery management experience.
  • Agile Methodologies: Understanding of Agile; certification as Scrum Master or Agile Coach is a plus.
  • Project Delivery: Experience in dynamic environments.
  • Adaptability: Ability to juggle multiple projects and make autonomous decisions.
  • Product Delivery: Experience in product delivery (advantageous but not essential).
  • Technical Expertise: Able to under AWS infrastructure and systems

The must-haves:

  • Project/Program delivery with a strong technical leadership background in various Cloud Product suites such as AWS/Azure/GCP etc.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, which will enable you to succeed in Grab's fast-paced environment.
  • An understanding of Agile is desirable but not essential; more important than your specific skill set is your 'can do' attitude and willingness not to be constrained by your job description.
  • Excellent communication skills to handle comms with senior executives, and cross-functional teams, and a proven track record of getting things done/shipping projects.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where autonomy and self-decision are needed (to an extent) and able to juggle between different projects/tasks.
  • Experience advising on technical solutions whenever needed is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions, without having to rely on your leaders or other stakeholders.
  • Able to work with teams not co-located.
