About This Role

Strava is the app for active people. With over 150 million athletes in more than 185 countries, it’s more than tracking workouts—it’s where connection, motivation, and personal bests thrive. No matter your activity, gear, or goals, Strava’s got you covered. Find your crew, crush your milestones, and keep moving forward. Start your journey with Strava today.

Join Strava as a Senior Technical Program Manager and lead cross-functional initiatives for Achieve and Explore product teams. The Achieve team supports athletic goals with Progress, Training Experiences, Activity Page, and Athlete Intelligence. The Explore team enables athletes to discover surroundings with Routes, Segments, and Maps interactions.

The primary responsibility of this position is to collaborate with multiple teams to design and implement efficient processes, encourage partnership, and ensure transparent communication among partners. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous situations and can provide structure and leadership in complex programs. You will have the opportunity to influence problem-solving approaches and disseminate valuable takeaways throughout our product development processes!

We follow a flexible hybrid model that generally translates to around half your time on-site in our San Francisco office—roughly three days per week.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of large programs from ideation through launch and post-launch.
  • Serve as the connective tissue across cross-functional teams, uniting remote teams across different time zones to foster collaboration, improve decision-making, and deliver value.
  • Manage program communications with key partners at all levels across the company to enable transparency and timely information sharing.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risk by conducting assessments to determine if implementation plans meet requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for any customer concerns regarding assigned programs.
  • Build and enhance product and technical operations to ensure programs and teams operate efficiently.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using technological solutions such as Jira, Confluence, and Airtable to streamline workflows and improve program and team efficiency.

We are excited about you because you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of software program management experience.
  • Proven experience crafting program scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication and alignment between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience bringing technical and creative collaborators together to build outstanding user experiences.
  • Experience building consumer-facing features and programs that support the user journey.
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive and curious nature with a strong sense of ownership.

Why you’ll love working at Strava:

  • You will be a positive influence and a great communicator, flourishing in a collaborative team environment.
  • You will understand and champion your program’s strategy and its benefits to Strava.
  • You will keep a growth mindset, constantly asking how we can improve our frameworks and processes.
  • You will embrace a roll-up-the-sleeve mentality and demonstrate flexibility in navigating dynamic work environments.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on world-class products that make a real difference in the lives of athletes globally!
