About the Team
The Technical Product Manager - Data Intelligence role will be responsible for owning a data roadmap that focuses on:
- Continuously improving the development and platform maintenance experience for data analytics developers that contribute to the Penn Interactive Business Intelligence Platform
- Defining and prioritizing project work to empower business stakeholder decisions with high quality data analytics outputs
- Collaborating with delivery teams/resources[Other technical product managers, project managers, data analytics - engineering professionals] to ensure prioritized work is completed to specification and released for stakeholder use
- Evaluating outcomes and impact of delivered roadmap commitments
About the Work
A typical work day for a Technical Product Manager supporting the Data Intelligence Domain will include:
- Attending agile ceremonies (standup, backlog grooming, sprint planning) to stay up to speed on what the team is working on using tools like Jira and Confluence
- Setting up and attending meetings across engineering, product, and project management stakeholders to:
- Communicate the state of current roadmap priorities
- Intake new work for review and roadmap prioritization
- Producing documents and artifacts to streamline development and delivery processes for roadmap items:
- Product Brief
- Product Requirement Documents (PRDs)
- Supporting documentation (Logical Diagrams, Deployment Plans, etc.)
- Collaborate with Data Org leadership to manage the backlog and plan future work iterations for the development team
- Manage day-to-day operations of the team, using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Coordinate release cycle of production ready solutions and manage cross team dependencies.
About You
- 3+ years of experience in product management in a technical environment
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- Understanding/familiarity of the various components of a data pipeline related to data ingestion, transformation, and presentation
- Understanding/familiarity with BI tech stack tooling/components
- Presentation Tooling - Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc.
- Orchestration/Data Transformation Tooling - dbt, dbt Cloud
- Knowledge/Familiarity with SQL
- Experience communicating across diverse cultures, work styles, and personalities.
Nice to Have Skills
- Familiarity with Cloud Services - Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery Kafka
- Experience with monitoring tools like DataDog, Splunk, and Prometheus.
- Ability to read source code
