This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team, working to support our partners within OMERS Capital Markets, Total Portfolio Management, Treasury, and Corporate Finance, while performing functions to deliver on our pension promise. The team supports investment professionals on a day-to-day basis, as well as ongoing projects to deliver new capabilities, refine workflows, and align to the strategic platform roadmap. The incumbent will be responsible for providing solution design, development & maintenance support for investment applications and integrations. The incumbent will function in a team-oriented context with opportunities for interacting directly with platform teams, and investment professionals.

Scope of Position
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technical Services, Capital Markets Finance, the Senior Technical Analyst responsibilities include developing database stored procedures and functions, building SSRS or Crystal reports, maintaining ASP.Net web applications, integrating data between investment platforms, troubleshooting production issues, and configuring scheduled jobs. The role requires a solid understanding of investment business processes and experience maintaining & supporting investment applications combined with excellent analytical skills, including solution design and documentation, root cause analysis of production issues, testing of application or integration changes, and implementation change management. It requires strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing investment and technology environments.
Responsibilities

Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver projects and enhancements

Design, develop, unit test, and implement technical solutions that meet the needs of our internal partners

Provide support to colleagues in the development of new reports, and the resolution of reporting and other data-related issues

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance technical processes to deliver efficiencies, and/or reduce operational risk
-
Work closely with IT Operations and platform vendors to ensure systems are optimized for performance and efficiency

Develop and maintain technical documentation for all solutions
-
Prepare implementation plans, define workflow solutions, and establish process controls and standards within investment platforms

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data integration and solutions

Expand knowledge of investment products (equity, credit, derivatives, alternatives) across lifecycle events

Stay current on the latest trends and technologies in data integration and solution development
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
-
7 years of experience in technology roles
-
5 years of work experience in the Finance industry; buy side investment management preferred
-
Demonstrated project skills and experience in all phases of solution development life cycle
-
Experience working with investment applications is an asset: trading systems (CRD, Bloomberg), accounting systems (Calypso, SimCorp or Eagle PACE), data warehouse (Eagle PACE), and reconciliation systems

5 years of experience developing database tables, functions, triggers, and stored procedures

Experience with various database technologies (SQL, Oracle, others)

Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS

5 years of experience with programming language using Java, .Net with VB or C#
-
5 years of experience with scripting language using VBScript, PowerShell. Python and Perl will be an asset

Experience with SSRS or Crystal report builder

Experience with web development using Asp.Net, HTML, JavaScript

Experience working with scheduler applications: TWS or others

Experience working with cloud technology; Microsoft Azure is an asset

Exposure with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI and Power Apps, is an asset

Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps and Repos

Experience with business process mapping, requirements gathering, analysis, design and documentation

Ability to solve complex problems, consolidate and organize large amounts of data and information

Ability to work on multiple assignments with competing priorities independently as well as in a team environment

Analytical and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences
