Senior Engineering Lead

Fliff unpacks sports gaming into social, free-to-play games for all types of sports fans. We've built a social sports gaming experience that allows users to compete for leaderboard positioning, to achieve badges and build their status within the game.

We are pioneering play-for-fun sports gaming, with our flagship social sportsbook experience that includes sweepstakes promotions and loyalty rewards. We provide sports fans with fun, engaging, and free-to-play alternatives to real money gaming.

If you are passionate about technology and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want you on our team! Fliff is seeking a skilled Senior Engineering Lead to join our growing team. You’ll lead a small team of engineers while still contributing significantly as an individual contributor.

The Role

• Lead a team of ~4 engineers, providing technical guidance and support
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance distributed systems using Python and Django
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Architect and implement scalable solutions to handle large volumes of traffic
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Optimize backend systems for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide career development guidance
• Balance technical leadership and management duties with individual coding responsibilities

Experience Required

• 7+ years of overall software development experience
• Experience leading small teams or mentoring junior engineers
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Proficiency in Python and Django
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in a production environment
• Experience using AWS or another cloud provider
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
