Job Description

Overview
The Senior Tax Associate is responsible for preparing and reconciling sales and use tax schedules as well as filing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns.
Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile sales and use tax schedules, and file tax returns on monthly, quarterly and annual basis both manually and via return preparation software
• Assist with software implementations
• Able to use various research tools to research current tax law changes with respect to sales and use tax, corporate and franchise taxes
• Aid in maintaining all current business licenses and apply for new state and local licenses for new businesses or stores
• Assist the Tax Manager with various State Audits and various DY finance initiatives
• Address and investigate tax notices from various jurisdictions
   

Qualifications

• 1-3 years working experience predominately with indirect taxes, specifically Sales Tax, and general accounting
• Experience with tax preparation software preferred (e.g. Vertex)
• Experience with general accounting software (e.g. Oracle)
• Works well in a Team environment, has a team mindset that focuses on the success of the Team and seeks ways to collaborate and partners with others
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, well organized, and proactive
• Good communication skills
• BBA – Accounting

Location: New York, NY (Tribeca)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 Days in Office / 2 Days Remote)
Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
