Objective and Purpose:
The Senior Tax Accountant role is based on assisting Specialty1 in building, implementing, and maintaining tax procedures, ensuring compliance and strategy as it relates to dental acquisitions, and being an internal tax resource for the company. Externally this role will help with monitoring outside tax agencies to monitor any tax payments and their statuses as it relates to any deadlines and/or any received notices at both the state and federal levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Advise department on tax strategy for ongoing business operations.
- Setup required tax accounts for newly entered states for payroll, corporate tax, etc.
- Perform notice related research on all tax related issues, respond and resolve federal and state tax notice.
- Assist on processing amendments and corrections.
- Liasson issue resolution by reviewing agency portals to check status of payment processing.
- Work with outside tax accounting firm on business operations.
- Perform tax research on federal and state issues as needed and advise on changes.
- Implement tax strategies to minimize federal and state expenses.
- Assist with internal and external audits and examinations.
- Sales/use tax process and returns.
- Prepare tax management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and combined state tax returns.
- A minimum of 4 years of progressive Federal, State and Local Tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
- Mergers and acquisitions experience is preferred.
- Sales & Use tax experience is desired but not required.
- Broad exposure to State and Local Taxes with specific knowledge in payroll taxes such as unemployment, local city, and county taxes preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts to management and non-tax practitioners.
Work Conditions:
- Candidate must be able to work in-office 4 days a week and 1 remote.
- Candidate must be able to travel as required for business needs.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Candidate must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Salary: $80,000 to $86,000 / annum

Position Base Pay Range
$80,000—$86,000 USD
