As a Senior Systems Support Engineer, you will ensure operational efficiency and stability of complex application systems, manage incidents, enhance monitoring, automate tasks, contribute to service improvements, and document processes for client onboarding/offboarding.

As a senior Systems Support Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency, stability and availability of complex application systems. You will contribute significantly to operational success, refine your expertise in incident management and DevOps and leave a lasting impact on the delivery of inventive solutions to our clients.

Job responsibilities

  • You will handle event-driven or planned situations through processes for incident, problem, and change management to ensure immediate restoration of services, recording and resolution of problems with sustained measures, and implementation of changes without unplanned downtime.
  • You will perform tasks triggered by service requests (SRM).
  • You will contribute to enhancing monitoring capabilities and the automation/orchestration of tasks.
  • You will participate in continual service improvement (CSI) through dedicated service improvement plans (SIP).
  • You will help expedite, coordinate, and escalate situations as needed across various product lines.
  • You will continuously document know-how (KDB) and run procedures for onboarding and offboarding clients with services.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills
  • You have experience working on programming languages such as Java or Python and an understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • You possess operational experience in vital environments with applications or systems based on state-of-the-art solutions (containerized and distributed).
  • You have knowledge of containerization and container management, including tools and methods for operating containers.
  • You possess exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, focusing on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
  • You have experience with automation, orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring tools.
  • You have experience with relational and non-relational data technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Kafka, Neo4J, etc.).
  • You have experience with Kubernetes operators (custom-built operators being a plus).
  • You have experience with hyperscalers such as GCP and others.
  • You possess a good understanding of networking concepts, including protocols, load balancing, and security.
  • Knowledge of ITSM frameworks is a plus.

  • You demonstrate excellent documentation and communication skills with a proactive attitude.
  • You understand the factors that contribute to a sense of urgency based on a zero-outage mindset.

  • You are capable of working independently and taking the initiative to identify and address technical challenges.
  • You advocate for security best practices and implementation of the same.
