Leidos is looking for a Senior Systems Developer to be part of a small dynamic team responsible for the operations and maintenance of multiple mission critical 1,000 VM hosting environments across multiple data centers. In this position, you will have the ability to have full control of the application from development to deployment. You will develop and enhance an application using Perl and Python in a Linux environment and analyze performance and end-to-end testing. This position will require you to maintain hardware and software systems and monitor the virtual infrastructure to ensure availability, reliability, and performance. You will effectively coordinate infrastructure needs driven by developed applications to meet customer mission needs. General tasks include working with customers to define and document requirements, support customer needs by responding to tickets, periodically test recovery operations, create and destroy virtual machines, add/remove/recap hosts, and other related tasks. This position requires a dynamic, innovative, self-starting problem solver and who enjoys using free thinking and independent judgement to provide solutions.
Required Skills:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph
- Strong working knowledge of networking and storage practices.
- Ability to create and modify scripts to automate routine tasks and to perform complex tasks (Bash, Perl, Python).
- 6+ years of experience developing a web-based Perl and Python application in a Linux Apache MariaDB PHP/Python/Perl (LAMP) environment.
- 8+ years of hands-on vSphere Systems Administration experience.
- Significant experience in both Windows and Linux Systems administration.
- Experience supporting a medium sized (~500) user environment.
- Ability to self-direct in project tasking and problem solve technical issues with little guidance.
- Must be innovative to lend new approaches and methods to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Ability to support the development of coding, testing and A&A documentation.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 12+ years of experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with various Linux distributions including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and Debian.
- Experience using Atlassian tool suite to include JIRA and Confluence to track activities and knowledge management documentation.
- Experience with user and server certificates.
- Experience maintaining system security plans.
- Ability to lead technical teams to success.

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
